Our room was large and extremely well appointed and very quiet. The restaurants are diverse with large menues to choose from. The facilities are relatively new and in spectacular shape. We recently returned from a most excellent stay at Unico 2087 resort near Tulum Mexico. If you’re looking to be pampered with a luxurious experience without the “noise” of large resorts, Unico is where you will feel right at home. For Hubby and I, going back to the room after dinner at night and enjoying the beautiful evenings on our patio was the perfect end to every day. There is one club but if you’re looking for a lot of night life and partying until 2am I recommend Hard Rock Punta Cana instead. The only thing to be mindful of is that this is not a “party” resort.

We stayed in a one bedroom Estancia suite and loved the little extra space from a standard room, plus a large patio with both a bathtub in the bathroom and outside. This is a smaller, high end resort that fills up fast so plan well in advance to ensure you get the type of room you want. We loved our vacation so much we have already booked our next trip back. I also have to thank the Head Butler for throwing the best Super Bowl party!!! I always use the spa when I vacation and highly recommend the Deluxe hydrotherapy treatment before any of your services. Their attention to detail to ensure a great vacation experience was unmatched. Javier and Rodrigo were our Personal Assistants and they would appear out of nowhere to make sure everything was perfect. Unico service aims to ensure you want for nothing. (You can buy these specific essential oils and fragrance in a local hotel shop.) From the poolside food to the upscale evening dinners, every dish was delicious! Unico is also known for its Mixology so its fun to go to the main bar before dinner and have the Mixologists make you special drinks and just watch them at their ‘craft’. Every evening when we came back from dinner our bed was turned down, little chocolates left on the pillows, and a different but also special scent from the diffuser makes it feel almost better than home. The rooms all feature a style of natural materials local to Mexico and have all the comforts to make you feel spoiled. The staff strives to give you personalized service, whether it’s a waiter or the pool attendants that will go to great lengths to rearrange the umbrellas so you don’t get burnt. As soon as you walk into the lobby the delightful and unique smell of Unico makes you take a deep, relaxing breath.
Unico is an experience for all your senses! You are welcomed at the front entrance with cold washcloths scented with fresh herbs that immediately rejuvenate after long travel.
